Kappa Xi Chapter of GTU

Overview

The Kappa Xi Chapter of GTU is the NMSU student chapter of Gamma Theta Upsilon (GTU), the international geographical honor society. The Kappa XI Chapter of GTU does not typically organize extracurricular activities during the semester, because the Geography Club and Geography Graduate Student Organization do so already. However, the Chapter typically meets once per year for a GTU initiation ceremony.

GTU initiates must have a GPA of at least 3.3 (on a 4.0 scale) in geography courses, rank in the top 35% of their class, have completed a minimum of 3 geography courses, and have completed at least 3 semesters or 5 quarters of full-time college course work.
